The St. Isaac Jogues Exceptional Learners Center is officially up and running! The ELC will provide resource supports and services to students in need and offer gifted learning opportunities, while simultaneously promoting an exceptional Catholic education program. We are thrilled to welcome our new additions to the SIJ faculty: Amanda Miller will provide resource support for students in kindergarten through second grade, Nicole Madda will provide resource support for students in third through sixth grade, and Caitlin Kielty will provide resource support for students in seventh and eighth grade. Additionally, Jen Houch will be our private speech pathologist, Munira Shakir will be our occupational therapist, and Brie Arevalo will be our clinical psychology extern, practicing under the supervision of Dr. Alana Roth, clinical psychologist. Lastly, we are thrilled to welcome back Bob Leece as our social worker. Furthermore, SIJ will be offering a wide variety of enrichment opportunities for students such as 3D printing and robotics classes, Mandarin classes, and book clubs. On Thursday, September 5th the ELC and the attached sensory room were open for parents to view. It is located on the second floor next to the library. The staff was present for everyone to meet and packets containing information about the program, dates for the enrichment classes, and sign up instructions were available. This information was also emailed to all parents on Friday, September 6th. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Goll at kgoll@sijschool.org.
