KIDS MAKE A DIFFERENCESaint Isaac Jogues School is thrilled to announce the kick-off of it’s NEW COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM!!! The new service program is designed to provide each grade with an awareness on a specific need in our community based on their age level. As parents, we know that our children make a strong impact in our world. What they can accomplish makes a difference and our hope is that this program will instill life long lessons that they will carry on into a fulfilled adulthood. Through this Service Program, we encourage the children to embrace their own talents and use those talents to help others. We want to continue to enrich our children’s faith and encourage them to find God in all aspects of their lives as they grow into exceptional people under God’s grace, guidance and love. To make this program a success, we need your help! Our goal is to have two or more parent volunteers for each homeroom that would meet and educate the children about their specific community service theme four times through out the school year. The meetings would be for one class period. The dates are October 1st, December 10th, February 4th and April 7th. These days are called Thankful Thursdays. You can sign up for any dates. A folder will be provided for the volunteers, from the Chair People, with all the information and materials you need to teach the children. Projects will be included in the folder. The projects will be donated out into the community. The projects will be fun for the children and will also provide them with hands-on learning to create a meaningful experience for them, as well as for the charity. Here are the themes for each grade. Kindergarten – God’s Creations 1st – Elderly - Our Older Friends 2nd – Education to Those in Need 3rd – Poverty and Homelessness 4th – Hunger 5th – Veterans/Military Service Members 6th – Special Needs/Disabilities/Illness 7th – Human/Civil Rights 8th – Social Justice We are excited to provide information, so please email your designated chairperson with any questions and your availability.
