What is the SIJ Annual Auction?
The SIJ Annual Auction is PSA’s largest fundraising event of the year. This event is designed to bring together the SIJ community not only for an evening of fellowship and fun but to also raise much needed funds for our school. Approximately 300 guests attend, and the goal is to raise $200,000.

What is the timeline of the evening?
  • Saturday March 9, 2019 at Marriott Burr Ridge
  • 6pm reception with passed appetizers, open bar, mobile bidding will be live
  • 7pm Heads/Tails game
  • 7:05pm Seated dinner, 8th grade farewell, raffle drawings, live auction and paddle raise.
  • 9pm DJ starts – dancing begins!
  • 10pm Silent auction and open bar close – cash bar available.
  • 11 pm late night snacks

How much are tickets, who do I sit with and how do I register?
  • Tickets are $150 per person.

  • Tables have maximum of 10 people
    • When purchasing tickets, indicate with whom you would like to sit. o If you don’t have a table put together, don’t worry! You may request to be seated with parents from your child's grade.

Will there be an open bar and how does the Wine Auction work?
  • Open bar before and after dinner, switches to a cash bar at 10pm.
  • Bar is closed during dinner.
  • Wine with dinner is only available via the Wine Auction. o Pre-ordering is strongly encouraged – bottles waiting at your table! https://SIJPSA2019.givesmart.com
    • Wine auction table will open at 6pm if you forget to pre-order or if you need more that night.
    • Pre-order available until 3/1/19.

1/25/19 What is the Heads/Tails game?
  • $20 per person – online only https://SIJPSA2019.givesmart.com
  • Participants will pick up an I NY lapel sticker at the event.
  • The auctioneer asks participants to stand up.
  • Participants select either “heads” or “tails” by putting their hands on their heads—or their tails.
  • The auctioneer flips a coin and announces whether the coin came up heads or tails.
  • Those participants whose choice matches the coin flip get to stay standing— everyone else sits down and is eliminated.
  • The auctioneer continues asking participants to select “heads” or “tails,” then flipping the coin, eliminating more players until only one player is left standing.
  • The winner gets a $120 Nabuki gift card!

Explain the silent auction, live auction, paddle raise and raffles
  • Silent auction has 40 items, 20 class/school items and 2 parent parties! o Items will be listed online the week prior to the event.
    • ​​Bidding will open 48 hours before the o No silent items displayed– items will be available for viewing/bidding entirely online. https://SIJPSA2019.givesmart.com
      • MAKE SURE YOU BRING A FULLY CHARGED CELL PHONE!
  • Live auction will have 8-10 items and take place after dinner. o You will receive a bidder number and paddle at check-in. o 6 of the items are good for groups so look for sneak peek email communications and get your table to bid together!
  • Paddle raise will take place after dinner o Money raised will help directly fund the Exceptional Learning program.
  • 2 Raffles - $50 for A. Marek jewelry, $100 for tuition credit of $4500. Online only - https://SIJPSA2019.givesmart.com 

What Should I Wear?
  • Dress code is swanky cocktail. Fun dresses for ladies and suits for men. What counts toward my suggested PSA donation of $675?​
    • Silent, live and raffle count towards $675
