St. Isaac Jogues Parish was honored to welcome Bishop Daniel Conlon. The Bishop was at St. Isaac’s for a “pastoral visit”. He spent all day Monday, October 26th, with our students by celebrating the all school Mass and visiting our classrooms. Bishop Conlon was able to visit all of our classrooms and engage in conversations with our students. It was a wonderful experience for our students as they were able to ask the Bishop questions about himself, his faith journey, his position and our Catholic faith. What a blessed day!
On Friday, October 23rd, St. Isaac's first graders celebrated an early All Saints' Day by dressing up as "little saints". Each child selected a saint and learned about his/her life. The children dressed up as their chosen saint and processed into church for an All Saints' Mass Celebration. Father William DeSalvo celebrated Mass and gave a special sermon about the meaning of being a saint and following Jesus. He asked the children questions about their saint and why they chose a particular saint. Their answers were quite informative! Everyone enjoyed the Mass celebration and the elaborate saint costumes.

The Diocesan Catholic Education Foundation sponsored this Walk-a-thon event to raise funds for tuition assistance grants for elementary school students enrolled in Catholic schools. Every dollar raised will go directly to a child in need in our Diocese.
The second annual, parish-wide Feastival on Saturday, October 17th, was an exciting event for all children and adults alike. Parents and children feasted on burgers, brats, hot dogs, donuts, popcorn and ice cream. There was face painting, a bounce house, an obstacle course, a cakewalk and even a petting zoo. It was a great opportunity to have fun with family, friends and fellow parishioners. A great time was had by all!
On October 19th, Alison McGhee spoke to our students in grades 2-6 about her picture books and new book, Firefly Hollow . The students enjoyed her presentation on the creative process of writing a book. They learned how to develop characters, the research involved and how to get a book published.
