On Friday, March 13th the SIJ Cadence Choir performed at Wheaton Warrenvile South High School. They were named First Runner Up in the Middle School Division of the Choral Classic Competition. Congratulations to Cadence on a great season!
Thanks to everyone who participated in the 2nd Annual Seeds of Service parish-wide, community-wide service project. Together with nearly 400 volunteers over two days, we distributed 4,000 empty bags throughout Hinsdale, then collected, sorted and distributed about 2,000 bags and bulk donations of food and other needed items to four worthy charities. Children, parents and grandparents worked alongside each other as one parish family, living out our faith in the service of those in need. All those who volunteered and donated food received much more than they gave, performing corporal works of mercy right in our own backyard.

Our SIJ future scientists displayed their science experiments on Thursday, March 12th in the Parish Center. Over 135 students from Kindergarten through Fourth Grade participated! There were 70 science projects presented which included rocks, solar systems, volcanoes, tsunamis, battery power, circuits and chemical experiments. Students were to use the Scientific Method when selecting, displaying and explaining their experiments. The Science Fair is designed to promote and encourage the study of science in our younger students. All participants were awarded a Casual Dress Day. Mrs. Buchheit's second grade class was awarded a Pizza Party for the class with the highest percentage of student participation.
This year's SIJ School Play was "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown". The play was a huge success and well attended at Nazareth Academy's Auditorium. Eighty SIJ students made up the cast and crew and over 800 tickets were sold. This SIJ musical rivaled any high school production in talent, technology and set design.
